I never ate oatmeal in the US - but since I've been in Argentina I have become obsessed with it and eat a bowl for breakfast every single morning. The Argentine diet and my Yanqui (previously vegetarian diet) were hard to reconcile, but I finally found a way to make peace with it! Frankly they are missing out on the spice and the oats, and I'm glad I get to enjoy their delicious steak and amazing pastas!

I have to agree with this list in general. I will make an exception, though, on the Brussel sprouts and the sushi. Life without Brussel sprouts is like a day without sunshine! Ok, maybe I'm stretching it a little, but I do like those little boogers!!

A horse collar? Well some of the beef is so tough that I think it should have been made into one! Argentines are darn proud of their traditional range-fed beef, but it often seems rather chewy to someone raised with those poor animals raised in feed lots and stuffed with corn and hormones.

It sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the holiday, Gayle! We did much the same, a stocking for each other with fun little gifts, yummy breakfast, a hike to see a Santa cactus and enjoy the views of Phoenix, and egg nog and football to end the day.

I'm glad you're able to mesh the two cultures, taking the best of both!

I ain't Yanqui I guess! I always consider a wedding dinner late at 1 am. Of course, who would not? And dining in a good restaurant alone? Gosh, it will be so boring. And on those list, I sure am that I ain't Yanqui. But the list is hilarious! interesting it is to be a Yanqui considering that you have to be as what as the list is saying. Funny!
